It all started when I was a young boy. We used to visit our "Gramps" (pictured above), who finally purchased his own house with a 2 car garage, after living in Government housing most his life. He quickly converted the garage to a workshop. He would make signs, toys, small baseball bats and give them to family/friends/neighbors. I was amazed at his work on the Lathe, Unfortunately Gramps, and my Dad (also Gramps) are no longer with us, I am just trying to carry on the tradition!
Most of my woodworking projects, are created from wood, that I have milled myself. Currently the process involves a chainsaw and "Gramps" vintage band saw. I find the wood on our property, or neighbors/family/friends. Most wood is harvested from trees blown down in storms.
Like Gramps, most of my projects are given to friends and family as gifts, and I have built a few things to "improve" my workshop/garage/office. Right now, this is just a hobby, but who knows, maybe some day it will be more!
Now Just a hobby..whenever I finish my "payin" job :)
